Reasonable Nuts: Richmond highest in Fortune 500 companies per capita

Sometimes nuts. Always reasonable. We are REASONABLE NUTS.

The Reasonable Nuts are a small band of conservative and libertarian thinkers who have come together to exposit, expound, and (sometimes) explode on topics of public discourse (or those we think should be in public discourse). "Yeah, like the 'net needs another right-wing blog!", you're thinking. We hear ya. Our primary purposes here are twofold: 1, to post our notions and interpretations of current and recent events, bouncing them off one another - and you - and 2, to add a unique content to the 'net - not readily found elsewhere.

Richmond highest in Fortune 500 companies per capita

And to the six Fortune 500 companies headquartered here, we add a seventh:

The company, now based in Stamford, Conn., will join six other Fortune 500 companies based here. It is 267th on the list of the nation's largest corporations, ranked by annual revenue.

This is at least one reason why the greater Richmond metropolitan area is listed as 6th in Fortune's ranking of regions expecting continued real estate growth in the next several years.

Protagonist said...: The Wikipedia says that Richmond hosts eight Fortune 500 Compaines: Dominion Resources, Circuit City, CarMax, Performance Food Group, LandAmerica, Owens & Minor, Brink's and Genworth Financial. Philip Morris is in Henrico County.

I'd say that you're right, and that the Richmond hosts only seven Fortune 500 "corporations". One of the above listed is a drug cartel and the other is a white slavery ring that I recently escaped from.; 2/15/2006 9:19 PM
