Hydrogen cars?

Leave it to the Germans to push for Hydrogen as an alternative fuel for high performance automobiles. After all, wasn't it they who gave us the Hindenberg?

And I suppose Gasoline is so much less dangerous then Hydrogen.

actually, it is.

however, by itself, it is not flammable. it requires an oxidizer (oxygen). simple air provides this.

Oh man, that's really bad.

Kinda reminds me of something a friend said once to me. To this day, I deem it the funniest off-the-cuff remark I've heard:

He's driving a car with me in the passenger seat. We're entering a parking garage where some construction is taking place. There are several collapsible poles in place, supporting the floor above as the work is done. I caution my friend, "Be careful not to take out any of those poles."

He quickly retorted, "I'm German; it's in my nature." :-p
